The need for a clean break
Sometimes things and facts are different from what was promised some time ago. Sometimes you get upset about changes that shouldn’t be changes - and sometimes you’re just tired and need a break: Here’s a little spontaneous pile of my thoughts!

If you want to change something, you like to listen. Excited about the new task and teased by the allure of the new. I’ve always enjoyed building things up, I’m not an administrator - I prefer to leave that to others. But if it turns out that managing or holding on to yesterday is more desirable than a long overdue and necessary broad change - what about my planned task, which I thought about in a similar place two years ago?
When regional divisions do not correspond to the points of the compass, when two modern teams are not allowed to do what makes them different and works, when the business of „yesterday“ is still omnipresent and decision-makers surround themselves with „yes-men“ who deliberately perpetuate the business of yesterday, is it not time to question my own function? Why don’t you allow people to work on customers without the silos that only a hardware vendor has?
I don’t know what tomorrow will bring but I don’t want any more tilting at windmills. No more extreme regional differences in mindset or differences due to a missed PMI-process. No more people who have already passed their zenith and are still allowed to make an impact - and yet don’t advance the company at all or rather slow it down. The support that the task for which you were hired is still desired: A commitment to modern business. A cut, a decision has to be made - sooner rather than later, because it’s draining me and eating me (and some others) up.

The first cut has been made - and even if it’s just your own hairstyle and only partially liberating, it could well represent something new, a new phase or a new approach! This is essential and may seem uncompromising, but it is the only way to be at peace with yourself again: The current state of affairs is not one that I can, want or will endure in the long term, taking into account my health and well-being and that of my fellow human beings as well!
